About Les Arcs

 

The ski resort of Les Arcs is situated in the “Tarentaise“ area of the “Savoie“ department in the northern Alps region. Its high speed cable car takes skiers from the international rail station at Bourg St Maurice to the base of the pistes in Arc 1600 in just 7 minute.

 

From there you can take a free shuttle bus in direction of Arcs 2000 that lets you exit about 200m away of the chalet (Stop UCPA).

 

Since 2003 it has been part of the Paradiski ski domain,the second largest ski area in the world, linked by a giant double decker cable car with neighbouring la Plagne. The lift served area extends from 1660 altitude metres to the 3226 metres “Aiguille Rouge“. Including “La Plagne“ there is a total of 420 km of lift served runs, “Les Arcs“ has over 200km of runs. With 70% of the ski runs at over 2000 metres and one of the world's most modern artificial snow systems, “Paradiski“ guarantees top-quality snow conditions from December to April. Both resorts “Les Arcs“ and “La Plagne“ feature snowparks. There are 20 km of cross country trails in Les Arcs.

 

Surveys of skiers at “Les Arcs“ revealed that they like perfect pistes, and this is what you will find, a selection of wide and well prepared pistes. The resort has two centres, 1600 and 1800 on one side of the mountain with Arc 2000 and the "Disneyesque" 1950 in a separate valley. Les Arcs has a modern outlook to snow sports. Local instructor Régis Rolland popularised the snowboard in France with the “Apocalypse Snow“ series of films made in the resort in the early 1980s.

 

During the summer, “Les Arcs“  is also a gateway to the “Vanoise“ national park, a nature reserve of 53,000 hectares. The park offers a multitude of activities: hiking, Bike Park, golf, rafting, canyoning… they’re all waiting for you!

The chalet

 

The chalet is located at Arcs 1600 and towers the station. Its unique location on the pistes, easy access by car and train, perfect orientation to the sun and last but not least the magnificent view make it ideal  for a cosy and harmonious family holiday.
